The ethos of Habitat for Humanity is not just about bricks and mortar and building houses. It is about empowering people, whom we refer to as homepartners or homeowners, to take control of their own lives and build a better future for themselves and their family. Behind each home that is built is a unique story of positive transformation, whether in Argentina or Armenia, Myanmar or Madagascar, Northern Ireland or Nepal. The following stories and images servce to illustrate this point.

For press use, here are a number of high resolution images and their related stories featuring Habitat for Humanity's work around the world.

Corporate volunteer teams

In December 2004, the Indian Ocean tsunami struck 12 countries, killing at least 180,000 people and leaving 1.7 million people homeless. The corporate community around the globe mobilized in an unprecedented way to help us build new homes, and Great Britain alone sent around 440 volunteers to Sri Lanka.
